LAWYERS MEET ON COURT BOYCOTT

Lawyers in Swaziland will meet today (8 July 2011) at 10.30am to discuss whether to boycott court work.

They want Michael Ramodibedi, Swaziland’s Chief Justice, to be suspended pending an inquiry into his action suspending High Court Judge Thomas Masuku for alleged misconduct.

They are also accusing the chief justice of bringing the administration of justice into disrepute.

Titus Mlangeni, Law Society of Swaziland President, told the Swazi Observer, ‘I cannot say as of now whether the boycott is on or not.’
